Your inner world is the most private thing you have. We built Daily Mood Journal so it stays that way, yours alone.
Daily Mood Journal (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Daily Mood Journal mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
The short version: Your moods, notes and reflections are encrypted and tied to an anonymous account. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run ads, and we never read your private entries.
01Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we collect your authentication credentials (an email address, or a third-party sign-in provider ID via Apple or Google). We also store your display name and device platform (iOS).
Mood & journal data
We collect the check-ins you choose to create, including moods, emotions, triggers, notes, and the time of each entry. This is your private journal and is used to power your map, your timeline, and your personal insights.
Usage data
We collect data about how you use the App, such as screens viewed, features used, reminders configured, and app events. This data is used to personalize and improve your experience.
Analytics data
We automatically collect anonymous usage analytics such as session duration, engagement metrics, and feature usage to improve the App. This is never linked to the contents of your private entries.
Purchase information
Premium subscription purchases are processed by the Apple App Store. We receive your subscription status through our payments provider but do not have access to your payment details (card numbers or billing address).
Device information
We may collect device type, operating system version, app version, and a unique device identifier for analytics and troubleshooting purposes.
02How we use your information
- Provide and personalize your mood-tracking experience
- Save and sync your check-ins, timeline, and insights
- Deliver the push notifications and daily reminders you configure
- Process and manage Premium subscriptions
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
- Prevent fraud and ensure security
We do not use your private entries to build advertising profiles, and we never sell your data.
03Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, analytics, cloud messaging
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- AppsFlyer — attribution and marketing analytics
04Data storage & security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Google Cloud Platform. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for data in transit, and your entries are encrypted at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
05Data retention
We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
06Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Export your data

07Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
08Push notifications
Daily reminders are scheduled on your device. You can configure or disable them at any time through the App’s settings or your device’s notification settings.
09International users
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data-protection regulations, including GDPR for users in the European Economic Area.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
